Mahindra Thar 5-Door

Mahindra Thar 5-Door will be revealed officially next month (January 2023) as the carmaker plans to launch the SUV soon in India.

More practical version of the 3-door Thar having a proper second row of seats for three adults. It is still unclear weather the 5-door Thar will get a third row seating or not.

The Indian UV maker is likely to give it a new name. The design will be exactly the same but you can expect minor styling tweaks to differentiate the two products.

It will be powered by the same 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine options albeit with different tuning. To be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options.

While the 3-door  is offered with 4×4 as standard across all variants, you can expect Mahindra to offer 4×2 variants as well with the longer Thar.

The price difference is likely to be around Rs. 1 lakh over the 3-door . While the new SUV will be revealed next month, the launch is still far away, expected to hit the showrooms in the second half of 2023.
