The Acura RDX interior has a good mix of leather and soft-touch materials to create a cozy environment. However, the shifter arrangement and small buttons might fluster the driver, but at least the passengers will be comfortable.

At first, the controls of the RDX might be a bit intimidating, but once you get used to them, you’ll find them simple. However, the steering wheel controls are relatively straightforward, but you’ll still take a bit of time to adapt to the shifter and touchpad interface.

Wide door openings make it simple for front and rear passengers to get in and out of the RDX. Furthermore, the stylish shaped front seats don’t get in the way, and the flat rear floor makes it simple for rear passengers to slide across the back seat.

Under the hood, a turbocharged 2.0-liter produces 272 hp at 6500 rpm and 280 lb-ft at 1500 rpm. The engine pulls well thanks to generous low-end torque, but it lacks the top-end power of the six-cylinder X3. According to Acura, the RDX can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds.

The braking system inspires confidence thanks to the predictable engagement and a good feel. The steering has four modes; drive, comfort, sport, and sport+. The effort is well-matched in drive mode, and the comfort mode is gentle without feeling too supported. The sport and sport+ have a tight, substantial feel. Additionally, Acura tuned the variable steering ratio, making the RDX more agile on twisting roads.

The car has a 10-speed automatic transmission that does a good job of selecting the appropriate gear. However, gear selection is more forceful when the car selects sport mode. Also, the RDX A-Spec is conservatively tuned to produce more initial understeer, and its wider tires don’t seem to offer added grip.

The Acura RDX Has An Advanced Safety And Infotainment System

The RDX has advanced features like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control. The only optional feature is the surround-view camera system.

These features allow the Acura to earn a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS and five stars overall from NHTSA. However, this shouldn’t be surprising because many Acura models have good safety scores.

There’s a 10.2-inch widescreen display, language voice recognition, and a 16-speaker ELS 3D stereo system for infotainment. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and owners praise the reliability of the Bluetooth connection. Both front and rear seats have two 2.5-amp ports for charging modern smartphones and tablets.
